Luna- The Power of Learning to Control Impulses

Luna came to us a wild ball of uncontrolled energy. On numerous occasions she had literally pulled her owners down on leash walks. Her obsession with squirrels and things that move made her difficult both in and out of the home. She needed to always be on a leash or long line, and could never truly just cut loose and run. Her owners, being extremely dedicated to their beloved dog, and did their best to fulfill her desire to play and chase toys and frisbees while on a long line, but her activity level made that line on the ground quite a hazard for her human handlers. She had also gotten away from them several times and gave them quite a scare.

Luna is an intense, intelligent, working breed dog who benefitted immensely from learning to control her impulses around things that excited her. In the first few minutes of her arrival at MondioPup, we taught her to yield to the gentle pressure of a prong collar. Within minutes she was incredibly receptive to information coming from the leash. Her two week board and train gave her a host of skills that made her a much easier dog to live with, and a dog her owners can now fully enjoy. With her new found freedom to run and play, unencumbered by a leash, she is able have her exercise needs easily fulfilled. With her new ability to control her impulses around wildlife and other triggers, she became an overall more manageable dog- both in and out of the home. She walks politely on a leash by her owner's side until released, and understands that even though she is "free", that she is still responsible for making good choices and to come back when called by her owners-- every time, the first time they ask. It has brought peace of mind to Luna's owners and the freedom to just relax outside with their dog without constantly having to worry about what could go wrong. The powerful, long lasting results of her training are being enjoyed every day of their lives together.

The beginning stages of training with Luna

Here is what Luna's Owners had to say about their experience:

Adrienne at MondioPup, Inc is my Dog Whisperer. We have a 3 year old australian shepard named Luna. For those of you not familiar with the breed, they are herding dogs with lots of energy. Luna's recall was nonexistent, and forget leash walking. She would walk us. Having 5 1/2 acres, it was a shame Luna was not able to be free. After Luna's stay with Adrienne, she came back a very well behaved and obedient dog. Now Luna has the freedom of running, playing, going for walks (off leash) and is one very happy dog. Not only did Adrienne train Luna, she also spent a good hour training myself and family members so we were all consistent with what Luna has learned. I cant thank you enough Adrienne for your services. It has improved the quality of our life's as well as Luna's. Would highly, highly recommend.
